A steam shower should be a real investment for your home, converting your bathroom into a haven of relaxation, adding not only luxury but also value. It is therefore really important that you take time to choose a steam shower that is going to last, so here are a few points to consider when looking for your perfect steam shower:

Make sure you always buy products with a warranty from the supplier
Unfortunately you never quite know what will go wrong, so always ensure your product comes with a warranty. All our home ranges (Classic, Touchscreen and Contemporary range) are all covered by a 2 year parts and components warranty, giving you a piece of mind when purchasing your steam shower.

NEWS FLASH - All orders for the Classic, Touchscreen and Contemporary range models before the end of April 2008 will receive a free upgrade to a 5-YEAR extended warranty.
Study product photographs carefully
Make sure you take time to inspect the photograph carefully and the dimensions of the product. You don’t want to buy a steam shower enclosure that is going to dominate your bathroom and allow no room for anything else. Chose a retailer who has detailed images of their products online or who is happy for you to come and see the product in their showroom. Even if you can't make the trip to their showroom, it is reassuring to know a supplier is proud to show their product off. The Shower Company.com is always more than happy for you to come and see our products in both our Morecambe and Tunbridge Wells showrooms.
Always make sure you know the installation requirements
Be sure to get hold of the installation requirements, such as water pressure and electrical requirements, before you place your order. Should you have any installation queries prior to purchasing, our team are always on hand to answer any questions you may have.
Brilliant white is not quite right
The quality of the acrylic shower trays can often be indicated just through their colour. Low-quality acrylics often have a very bright white colour and are more vulnerable to cracking and fire. All our shower trays are made out of good quality acrylic and not stone cast. Warm to the touch, slightly flexible and safe, our products use only the very highest quality materials.
Quality is often indicated through the fixtures and frames
You need to make sure that your shower enclosure is supporting a thick and study aluminium frame. This frame is there to support and protect the glass, so it’s vital that a good quality aluminium is used - usually around 1.2mm – 1.6mm thick is recommended. Some companies use plastic instead, coated in metal which can sometimes only be as thick as 0.5mm. This will only dent easily and won’t provide enough protection for the glass.

Also look out for plastic fixtures which have been coated in chrome. These often chip and peel over time, which obviously reduces the steam shower aesthetically and functionally.
Ensure your safety
Make sure that safety comes first and check that the steam shower your buying is fitted with tempered safety glass of about 5-6mm thick and that all the edges are covered by the frame, otherwise the glass could become easily chipped or broken. Also a piece of 120mm by 120mm tempered safety glass should break into 45 pieces to reach safety standards, otherwise it is thought that the pieces of glass are too big and could cause injury.

Our steam showers all feature 6mm extra- toughened and tempered safety glass, fitted into sturdy frames. The glass is almost impossible to shatter once fitted.
Certification
Make sure the product has CE certification - this is essential - but look out for other certificates too. This will provide you with the confidence that the structure has been fully tested to comply with all the essential health and safety requirements.

For piece of mind and protection for the whole family, all our products include a CE certified safety system, amongst many other certifications. The steam shower safety system features an RCD automatic cut-off, low water protection and alarm system allowing you and your family to shower in complete safety.
